Brought down from New York "Paul W" quickly became a popular morning man at WWDB 96.5 FM. He replaced the retiring long-time host Dominic Quinn. After several years at the station, Paul W. seized the opportunity to return home to Michigan (he grew up in Monroe) and started at WJR (replacing the legendary J. P. McCarthy) on July 1, 1996. At the time of his departure, WWDB was classy enough to throw an on-air goodbye party complete with live remotes and noted dignitaries as guests.
